Like a rolling stone

Ruby rolled over on January 25th (our nephew Zach's 12th birthday). She has done it again for Grandma and Mama but Daddy hasn't seen it yet. We have also tried to catch it on video but she is too fast for us. Hopefully soon we will post her talent of rolling over right here for her fans. :)

Green Tea Vs. Worrying

Ruby is sleeping in her crib for the first time tonight. She is doing great but her mother is not. It is 12:17 am and I am still awake making sure that she is okay...or it could also be that I drank green tea with caffeine at 11:00 pm. Either way, I am sure I will get used to her sleeping in her crib eventually. She just seems so little in that big bed. It is a big step for her and us I guess.

Ruby and Lily

One day this week I babysat my friends little girl Lily (18 months). I was real excited to see how I would do with two little ones. Surprisingly it wasn't bad. Here is a picture of the two girls in Ruby's crib. Lily was really good with Ruby and lightly patted her tummy throughout the day. It was funny how nurturing Lily was to Ruby even at such a young age.

New Bed

We put up Ruby's crib this week. She is not yet sleeping in it (because it is too cold in that room). Here is a picture of her laying in her crib.

Why I loved the movie "Juno"

This weekend Brian took me to see "Juno" for my birthday. It was the best movie I have seen all year (ha ha...the year has just started). Really, it was awesome. I keep thinking about all the reasons that I liked this movie so thought I would blog about it. So...if you haven't seen "Juno" and don't want to know what happened in it then do not read further. You have been warned.

1. I loved that she did not have an abortion after she found out that her baby had finger nails at the time she was headed for an abortion.

2. I loved that they didn't make her step mom a complete jerk like most movies do. They didn't get along perfectly but in this movie they showed that the step mom loved her and I appreciated that about the movie. Nice change of pace. Great scene when the step mom told off the ultra sound technician.

3. Even though it was harsh...I liked her Dad's response when he found out she was pregnant. He said " i thought you were the type of girl who knew when to say when." That seemed really mean to me at first but he needed to let her know how he felt about what was going on. And, on the other hand he was supportive and helped her along the way with the whole process.

4. The romantic in me loved that she and Bleeker got together and lived happily ever after.

5. I loved that she stuck with Vanessa (adoptive mom) even when the husband flaked out.

6. I loved that she went through with the adoption and then they showed how hard it still was for her.

I think that is it for now...if I have more I will add it later. :)

Families

The Benton's; Laffin's; Faith's and Straley's got together for family picture time. Hard to believe that we are not even done growing yet.

One crazy weekend

This year we were able to celebrate Christmas with all of Tera's siblings. This doesn't happen very often. So, Tera's parent's house was full of 9 grandkids and 9 adults (10 of those staying the weekend at Tera's parents house). It was lots and lots of fun! Here are some pictures including one with the proud Grandparents and Grandchildren (all but little Tyler were present).
