Coloring

Ruby has really enjoyed coloring on this big poster board. I got the idea from one of my friends and I wish I would've picked up one of this poster boards sooner.

New Favorite Blog and New Fave Accessories

I started subscribing to the Etsy blog called The Storque and I am really loving it. Etsy is an awesome site where anyone can buy and sell things that are handmade. I love it! Anyway, it can be a little overwhelming at times because there are sooooo many sellers and items. The blog makes it easier because they feature different items and artists daily. It is really great but don't worry I am only window shopping. :) Here are some recent items that I have found that are too cute:
Check out this necklace here

I also like this necklace from All That Glitters
The woman who makes this jewelry is from Bowling Green, KY...home of my in-laws! We met the woman who makes them at the farmers market last month and my mother in law bought me a beautiful necklace from her. I really do like most of her stuff and I encourage you to check out her etsy shop if you are looking for some awesome homemade jewelry.

I came across this artist today who makes some cute vintage inspired necklaces and rings that I like.

Nesting

My name is Tera and I am unorganized (that is supposed to be an AA/NA/etc. type joke). There, I admitted it. We have been working very hard over the past 3.5 years of our marriage to clean, simplify, organize, and create systems in our lives that work for us. Some have come and gone and a few have stayed. Brian successfully organized several things in our house and we have both worked hard to keep an online calender and to do list.

I am writing all this to say...I AM NESTING or at least I am desiring to nest but due to my lack of organizational skills I am struggling to even know where to start. For those of you who are not pregnant or don't really talk about this stuff...nesting is usually a time in pregnancy when a woman starts getting her home (aka Nest) ready for the new baby. She cleans, organizes, finishes projects, throws things away etc. to get the place ready for her growing family. I don't know if there is any sort of research behind all this but, I can testify that it is a real drive in us pregos. This picture is the epitome of how I want my house/life to look. I love it. I love the cleanliness, organization, and cuteness of this space. I got this pic from Organize Magazine website. Check out the article...good solutions for keeping your home clutter free.

I not only want to clean and organize but I also want to make things. I want to sew and do crafty projects (neither of which is my forte). I seem to constantly have ideas in my head about how I want to change my house, what I want to throw away, and things I want to make. I have a few projects that I am working towards (with the help of my husband) that hopefully will come out awesome and not ugly.

These are a couple of pics of different fabrics that I am coveting for my living room project:

This is fabric called Chestnut Branches in Lichen - Chestnut Hill Collection by Joel Dewberry that I found on Etsy.

This one I also found on Etsy and it is a fabric by Alexander Henry. I have a couple other fabrics I am looking at for this project too...not sure which I will choose.

I also want to make these little bean bags for Ruby to play with.

Now that I posted all this maybe I will finish or begin some of them!

P.S. This post is for Smith who said I need to blog more often.

Meal Plan Monday...a day late

So, I am a day late...got my motivation back this week by reading some meal plans on I'm an Organizing Junkie. This is a tough week for meal planning because I am trying to use stuff we already have and not go to the grocery (at least until the weekend). Also, we didn't get our usual weekly vegetables from our CSA due to tons of rain so I will have to pull something out of the freezer.

Monday- Meat loaf, cheesy rice, and collard greens

Tuesday- Two Step Chicken with salsa, rice, and veggies

Wednesday- South of the Border Sizzler

Thursday- Spaghetti with chicken and homemade pesto sauce and freshly grated Parmesan. My friend Jenni gave me her recipe so I am making pesto this week. If we still have some veggies around I will throw those in.

Friday- Roasted pepper, feta, and lentil salad with salmon patties

Saturday- Dining out because we will be busy all day at church and then at a wedding.

Sunday- Spaghetti Squash bake (basically I do this like baked spaghetti but just with spaghetti squash)
