We are back

Where have we been? Right here but without a working computer. Yep, last week our computer bit the dust never to return. I am now working on Brian's work computer that he so graciously brought home for me to use.
Here are a few things for ya:

--Do NOT make that "soup" that I listed last week on my meal plan. The first one that was called slow cooker italian veggie and past soup. It was not good at all. Bye the way, I didn't completely stick to that meal plan.

--Ruby has been having a hard time this week with teething. She is getting her 2 front teeth in and has not been too happy about it.

--Friday (Halloween) we are flying to Southern California to visit both sides of Brian's family. This will be Ruby's second time flying and we could use whatever tips you have to get us through the flight with a toddler who is teething.

--Brian and I went to a University of Louisville football game a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. We did leave early because it was too cold but we enjoyed being there for a short time.

--Ruby's favorite thing to do lately is get under the table and play on top of the broken microwave that we have under there.

Meal Plan Monday

So, I have been diligently planning meals for a couple of months now on a weekly basis. I usually just put them on my google calender but I thought I would share with everyone this weeks plan...even though it is not that exciting. I am not promising to do this every week but maybe periodically. Here we go

Monday Slow Cooker Italian Veggie and Pasta Soup
and cornbread

Tuesday Fish with baked potato's (that i will cook in the crockpot) and broccoli

Wednesday Frozen Homemade Burritos (we made these on Sunday and froze them). Wednesday is very busy so we have to eat something premade.

Thursday Slow cooker ravioli and salad

Friday Quick Italian Vegetable Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

Saturday we will go to a friends birthday party and eat

Sunday frozen meal of turkey meatloaf with baked potato's and green beans

Some of these links will require you to scroll down to find the recipe.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my husband and his fearlessness with battling mice. We have had quite the issue with mice lately. He has put traps all over and checked them before I saw anything gross. We also bought these things that omit some sort of sound and make the mice go away (doesn't hurt the dog). Hopefully all of this will work.

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend we took a trip to the pumpkin patch to get Ruby her first pumpkin. Although I was looking forward to taking pic's of Ruby in a cute fall outfit, we had to pull out a summer dress because it was just too hot. Ruby loved the pumpkins and watching the ducks in the pond. She got to take her first hay ride (minus the hay) out to the patch with Mama, Daddy, and Grandpa Faith. By the end of the day she was absolutely exhausted but still seemed to enjoy her first visit to Huber's Farm.

First Steps

Sorry I haven't posted this week...guess it has been busyier than usual.  So, last weekend Ruby took her first steps by herself.  I wouldn't say she is a walker now but she is quickly on her way.  Good job Ruby!

Butternut Squash Soup

If you haven't noticed I love cooking. Yesterday I had a friend over for dinner while Brian worked late. We had this delicious butternut squash soup. I have never made anything like this before but it turned out great! The towel underneath was made by my friend Terri. I got it at a gift exchange at church last year. So, you should make this soup, it was easy.

Thankful Thursday and Happy Birthday Austin!

Yesterday was our nephew Austin's 5th Birthday! Happy Birthday Austin! I did not forget I just didn't have time to blog. I was thinking about Austin today and what I was going to blog about (it is thursday) and thought about how happy I am to have so many neices and nephews. Brian and I are blessed to have 9 nieces and nephews ranging from age 17 to age 22 months. Here they are (including Ruby from oldest to youngest).
