Herbs and forgotten roses

Here is a picture of my herbs and flowers. I will put a new picture up as they grow (God willing).

Also, the other day I remembered that last summer we planted roses that Brian's mom gave us in the back corner of our yard. Ruby and I like to go in the back yard a few times a day to let Luna run around so while I was back there I took a peek. Underneath a bunch of overgrown tree branches there were 10 beautiful roses! I was so surprised and delighted. Now, we need to trim that tree back and pull out some weeds so we can enjoy them. What a nice surprise.

New Toy

We are fortunate to have many friends who hand down toys to us for Ruby. Here is a picture of Ruby's newest toy that Grandma Faith gave her. She got it from a friend at work and Ruby loves it so far.

Happy Birthday Brian!

Today is my wonderful husbands 28th birthday! To celebrate he just wants to go see "Indiana Jones" this weekend--cheap date. Guess he is still a kid at heart. Happy Birthday to my best friend and an amazing father! xoxo

Cultivate Beauty

Every year our church takes a month to turn off our t.v.'s and cultivate beauty by going outside more, gardening, painting, taking walks, reading, just taking time to enjoy God's creation. We have decided to start trying to grow some herbs. This weekend we went to Brian's parents house and they gave us some of their herbs (sage, dill, basil, cilantro, and oregano) and some marigolds.

Ruby also got to meet her Great Grandfather and his wife. We had a great time with them in Louisville and Bowling Green, KY. We took them to our favorite Cuban restaurant-Havana Rumba and of course the great tourist attraction Lynn's Paradise Cafe. We also spent some time at the Frazier Museum and saw some artifacts from a slave ship.

Sorry no pictures. We misplaced our battery charger for our camera. Actually, here are a couple of pictures from Lynn's Paradise Cafe that I found on the internet.
