Ducks

Ruby and her Great Grandpa feeding the ducks and geese in his backyard.

While we were in California Ruby saw a lot of ducks, geese, and other birds. This was exciting for her because she got to say her new favorite word all the time "quack quack." Here is a video of her in her Great Grandpa's backyard saying quack quack to the geese and ducks.

California again...

Since I still don't have a computer (if you would like to buy me one as an early Christmas present go ahead) I have to continuing using pictures that I get from my friend Sharon. Here are a few random ones for today:

John and Sharon in front of the beautiful mountains that we woke up to everyday in L.A. County. Do you think John looks like Brian?

Ruby in Hollywood eating Spaghetti and sauce for the first time. Isn't she glamorous?

Ruby's Great Uncle Rick got a kick out of giving Ruby some black icing from her Great Aunt Mary's birthday cake. Oh, the things we do to kids...

My Old Kentucky Home

We are back home from our wonderful vacation to California. We got home on Sunday and have been trying to get back into the swing of the things for the past few days. Ruby has done well transitioning back to Eastern time from Pacific. We had such a great time and have tons of pictures to go through. We still don't have a working computer at home (this is Brian's work computer that I am using now) so that limits the amount of blogging I can do.

Ruby has started walking a lot since we got home and learned lots of new skills while we were in California. She gives kisses (from a distance), says "please" in sign language a lot now, says "quack quack" all the time, and has two big front teeth sticking out.

We haven't put our pictures on a computer yet but here are a few that Sharon (my brother in law's girlfriend) took of us at the San Diego Zoo and Ruby on the beach.

We are back

Where have we been? Right here but without a working computer. Yep, last week our computer bit the dust never to return. I am now working on Brian's work computer that he so graciously brought home for me to use.
Here are a few things for ya:

--Do NOT make that "soup" that I listed last week on my meal plan. The first one that was called slow cooker italian veggie and past soup. It was not good at all. Bye the way, I didn't completely stick to that meal plan.

--Ruby has been having a hard time this week with teething. She is getting her 2 front teeth in and has not been too happy about it.

--Friday (Halloween) we are flying to Southern California to visit both sides of Brian's family. This will be Ruby's second time flying and we could use whatever tips you have to get us through the flight with a toddler who is teething.

--Brian and I went to a University of Louisville football game a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. We did leave early because it was too cold but we enjoyed being there for a short time.

--Ruby's favorite thing to do lately is get under the table and play on top of the broken microwave that we have under there.

Meal Plan Monday

So, I have been diligently planning meals for a couple of months now on a weekly basis. I usually just put them on my google calender but I thought I would share with everyone this weeks plan...even though it is not that exciting. I am not promising to do this every week but maybe periodically. Here we go

Monday Slow Cooker Italian Veggie and Pasta Soup
and cornbread

Tuesday Fish with baked potato's (that i will cook in the crockpot) and broccoli

Wednesday Frozen Homemade Burritos (we made these on Sunday and froze them). Wednesday is very busy so we have to eat something premade.

Thursday Slow cooker ravioli and salad

Friday Quick Italian Vegetable Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches

Saturday we will go to a friends birthday party and eat

Sunday frozen meal of turkey meatloaf with baked potato's and green beans

Some of these links will require you to scroll down to find the recipe.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for my husband and his fearlessness with battling mice. We have had quite the issue with mice lately. He has put traps all over and checked them before I saw anything gross. We also bought these things that omit some sort of sound and make the mice go away (doesn't hurt the dog). Hopefully all of this will work.
